Canaveral National Seashore
Canaveral National Seashore is a 57,652 acre marsh and beach spit north of Cape Canaveral in Volusia County, Florida. It was established January 3, 1975 as the last of a series of national coastal parks proposed during recreation surveys in the 1950s. The national park unit has two auto-accessible beaches.
One is Playalinda Beach. This beach is located near the southern end of the Canaveral National Seashore. Playalinda has been a popular beach for decades. But overuse has led to conflict.
Several naturist groups sued Brevard County for its failure to create a segregated nude area. Brevard passed an anti-nudity ordinance in May 1995.
